Soleil’s Dreamy Baby Girl Nursery

I had Soleil’s nursery all set up two weeks before her arrival. It all came together beautifully and I was looking forward to the bliss-filled and peaceful weeks to come with my lil’ bub. Then my husband Ryan got an amazing work opportunity and we would be moving in a month and a half to Laguna Hills in the Orange County area. Needless to see this mama was not feeling it at all. I had just finished Soleil’s nursery and was literally about to pop. All my plans of a stress free nesting period went out the door. We now had to start packing up our condo and find a new home. Thank goodness for my mother. She stayed with us for two months after Soleil was born and helped us pack up everything. We also found an amazing home and luckily everything just fell into place.

Once we got to the new house Soleil’s nursery was the first room we put together of course. Her room looks out to an amazing hill covered in purple flowers and has such amazing natural light. Although it was pretty stressful moving with a newborn, but starting this new chapter of our lives in our new home was all worth it. I wanted Soleil’s room to be soft, airy and fit for a lil’ princess. Adding the canopy over her crib, definitely gives her nursery that princess vibe especially with that gold crown on the top. It just might be my favorite item in her room.

To personalize Soleil’s baby girl nursery I added these sunburst mirrors to represent all things Soleil. In case you don’t know Soleil means “Sun” in french so adding these mirrors made the room just so her. I also had wood blocks made to spell out her name as another way to personalize her room. They turned out so cute surrounded by all her furry friends on a shelf I had custom made. I contacted this shop on Etsy, told them about a design I had in mind and they made it in no time at all. My experience working with them was exceptional. They even offered to go out and find a special type of rope for her shelving, I thought that was really sweet. Check them out here on Etsy.

The rocking chair in baby girl’s nursery glides smoothly and has been sweet to have when rocking Soleil to sleep. I wasn’t sure if I wanted a rocking chair in her room, but I’m so glad I went with it. It’s so sweet and makes for the coziest moments watching baby girl fall asleep in my arms. The bookshelves in baby girl’s nursery are actually spice racks from Ikea. I loved the look of them and they work so well for holding all her books. Yay Ikea! The curtains in her room are blackout curtains. They do a pretty decent job for blocking out the light when Soleil naps during the day. I also have to put the blinds down as well though, so I won’t say these curtains don’t turn her room pitch black.

I’m thinking to maybe put up some art on the walls to add in some color. I’m still on the hunt for the right piece. I had wayyyyy too much fun putting Soleil’s Dreamy Baby Girl Nursery together and I hope it helps you design your dreamy nursery too.
