My master bedroom makeover is something I’ve been pouring my heart into for a while and I’m so happy to announce that it’s finally done!
When creating my dream space, I aimed for French modern. I took a lot of queues from the romance and warmth of this design scheme and incorporated a few pieces of luxury to tie it all together. The neutral minimalism of the space is what really makes it feel like a cozy royal sanctuary.
My grand mirror from Anthropologie is one of my wow-factor pieces and it is something that I’ve had my eyes on for a long time. I was able to snag it during their 25% off sale in the fall and I’m so thankful for that because it is pricey! It’s 7 feet tall and the gold ornate detailing really make this stunning piece incredible. I also added in the MIA Chandelier from Pottery Barn which I think was the perfect final glam touch. These two pieces together give the room a bit of a French 18th century castle vibe.
I found some adorable bedside tables from CB2 and if you’ve been following along with me for a while, you know all about my love for CB2. I think they fit my space beautifully and the smaller size adds a nice minimalistic energy to the space. Because of the lack of space on the nightstands, I decided to go with wall sconces. We had an electrician to put them in for us and I love the way that they turned out. They really add a luxury hotel feel to my bedroom.
The bed was a big investment piece but worth every penny because I’ll never have to buy another one! We purchased it from Restoration Hardware, and it is made out of French iron, which is incredibly durable and will last a lifetime. It is a very minimalistic canopy bed which matches this French style perfectly but will also match anything else that I decide to do in the future. As you all know, interior design is constantly evolving. Pieces like this are fabulous because they evolve with you!
When decorating the bed, I decided to incorporate a few different textures. I used a nice white linen duvet cover from H&M for a neutral slate and then covered it in warm throw pillows from Crate and Barrel. The pillows are beige and charcoal, but they really tie in so well with the black and white décor while also offering a bit more warmth and romance. I finished it all off with a super soft white throw from Bloomingdale’s. I love this thing so much that I had to buy another one for my formal living room downstairs!
I have a huge plush rug on the floor and a little black statement table beside my end of the bed couch. This little couch was a must have and I think that the slipcover on it really adds a romance factor because of the ruffles. Of course, the slipcover couch is also from CB2.
I finished off my design with black and white photos from my wedding. These added the perfect final touch and solidified the romantic vibe of my space.
Check out my video on YouTube where I show all of these pieces and go into more depth about each one! I had such a great time designing this space and I’m so thrilled to have such a serene and minimalistic sanctuary to rest my head at night.
