If you follow me on Instagram you would know that my husband and I just bought our first home together. I’m so excited to share our decor journey with you all. Let the fun begin! The first room up is our Formal Living Room.
I went for a minimalist theme with the Parisian charm as it’s the perfect combination to create a simple yet chic design. Step one was selecting a sofa, which would be the focal point of our living room area. I chose this four-piece Infinity curved sofa, which I am totally obsessed with! Oh how those curves put a smile on my face every time I walk into this room. I love the soft cream color it comes in which works with the monochrome style of the room. The channel tufting definitely adds a luxurious and chic element to the space.
The overall idea I wanted for the space was a modern take to the minimalist monochromatic design. Playing with different textures through out the space added a cozy feel so the room wouldn’t feel so flat and boring. I went with an ivory shag rug to add some texture and for accent chairs I went with two ivory boucle chairs. Boucle is hot and trending right now and I’m not mad at it. I just love how fun and playful it is. The Gwyneth Chairs from CB2 are so artsy with all the right curves. They’re also chic and provide that minimalist edge to the overall room look. The vibe for the space was to combine high-quality and unique furniture and these chairs give it that one-of-a-kind feel.
I added this vintage Italian travertine coffee table to match the monochrome color palette I was going for and give that oomph factor in my formal living room. Again adding some character to the space with it being vintage and unique.
I love how each piece in the room works so well together. From the the beautiful curved velvet couch, the artsy travertine coffee table, and mod boucle chairs the room turned out better than I could imagine. Let me know in the comments what item you like the most.
I”m still figuring out what to do with the walls. Maybe a bold modern art piece or a gold ornate mirror for some Parisian flair. Let me know in the comments what item you like the most and if I should do art or a mirror on the wall.
Happy decorating!
