Does a scenic bike ride along the beautiful marina to the clear sand beaches of Playa del Rey tickle your fancy? Well how about we add on a boozy jazz brunch at Playa Provisions on the end? Sold? Yeah I thought so. Playa Provisions is from Top Chef alum Brooke Williamson & her husband Nick Roberts and has taken Playa Del Rey by storm with their popular multi-concept spot. There are four different restaurant concepts nestled all within this one beach side location. You’ve got a fun ice cream shop called Small Batch; a casual market counter serving breakfast and lunch, called King Beach; a back-room whisky bar called Grain; and a more high-end dining space dedicated to seasonal seafood fare, called Dockside. Let’s go!
My husband and I did this trail on Memorial Day long weekend and it was a beauty. We started out at Marina Del Rey’s Oxford Basin which is now being turned into an awesome public park. The basin has undergone quite the face lift, 14.5 million dollars worth of enhancements to be exact. The park will feature a walking path, some new lighting, better fencing and access to the Marvin Braude Bike Trail. The enhancement project will also increase the site’s ability to prevent flooding, reduce stormwater pollution and improve the overall ecosystem of the area, according to Urbanize LA . The park was set to be finished in the spring but still hasn’t been fully completed yet, but so far so good. Loving it already. You can start your day from this location if you want to check out the park, or any where along the Marvin Braude Bike Trail in Marina Del Rey. For this post let’s start at the Marvin Braude Bike Path & Fiji Way.
