I am a huge hat lover… huge!!! They’re my favorite go-to accessory when adding the finishing touches to an outfit. There’s just something about a great hat that can add so much personalty to an outfit. I can’t get enough of them from fedoras to boaters and floppies, a good hat just adds such an edge to any look. I’m lusting over the selection of hats over at Gigi Pip. Some of my favorites are “Ester” a stiff black boater hat that adds such a statement to any outfit and can we talk about “Marsha“? Marsha, Marsha Marsha, she is the perfect fedora in a beautiful shade of brown that will be a timeless piece in any wardrobe. Lastly there is “Annabella”. She comes in a rich mocha and brown shade with a 3″ floppy brim and is made of 100% felt wool. There is an elastic inner band that stretches to fit most head sizes, so she can be worn on the top or back of your head depending on how you would like her to lay. Keep on reading to find out the three different ways to style a floppy hat like Annabella.
The lovely folks over at Gigi Pip were kind enough to send over the beautiful Annabella and I just love her. Annabella is described as ” a great mix of stiff wool and floppy wool felt” and I couldn’t agree more. There’s a stiffness to her that allows for the brim to be manipulated to lay a certain way. I really liked that feature so that I can position the hat to lay a certain way over my face. She is not like some other floppy hats that just hang down and don’t have much structure or shape.
Three Ways to Style a Floppy Hat
I styled Annabella with three different outfits to show how versatile she is. The first look is with a jumpsuit. Jumpsuits are so playful to begin with and throwing on a floppy hat just makes it that much more fun. Rocking a floppy hat with a jumpsuit adds a bit of glam and a head-turner aspect to the look. It reminds me of the glam girls back in the 70’s or like an outfit one of the Charlie’s Angels would wear. There’s something about a floppy hat that gives of a bit of a vintage flavor to any look.
The second way I styled Annabella is with a maxi dress. This look gives me so much “boho chic” vibes. I liked adding Annabella with this maxi because it made the whole look not so girly. The maxi dress is so pretty with flowy layers and flower cutout details on the front, it just screams super girly. Adding this hat it gave the look an edge and made it more my personal style.
The last way I styled Annabella the floppy hat is with some lace up jeans, a button up bodysuit and some sky high heels. I would rock this look for a casual night out with the girls or a casual date night look with my fella.
