Christmas is pretty much just around the corner, and I’m getting more and more in to the Christmas spirit everyday. I’ve been listening to carols all week long and that has definitely got me feeling all the vibes. What are some of your favorite Christmas songs? All I want for Christmas by Mariah Carey of course is such a classic, but I’ve been jamming it out to some Kenny G lately. I know I know insert cheesy Kenny G joke, but I actually lovvvvve him and the way he plays that beautiful saxophone. It just gets me all warm and full of the Christmas feels. Check out his Holiday Classics album here and It’ll get you feeling all kinds of merry and bright.
With the minimal style of my home I also wanted the Christmas decor to be minimal and yet merry. We found our minimal Christmas tree here and I just knew it was going to be perfect for that look. It’s a 7′ Norwegian pine artificial Christmas Twig Tree with a metal base. I purchased the un-lit version so that I could decorate the tree with tiny fairy lights. I also love this one here with the burlap pot base, perfection for the Nordic minimal Christmas style.
The ornaments are from CB2 and I chose to go with a green, white and silver look. The “Merry and Bright” ornament is from a store on Abbott Kinney in Venice called Burro. They have the cutest gifts and paper goods there, so worth a checking it out if you’re ever in the Venice Beach, CA area.
As for the tree lighting I didn’t want to go with those big green ones you see everywhere. Going with fairy lights adds to the minimal aesthetic and it looks like the lights just twinkle. You can find fairy lights here or here. The gold candle holders are from here and here. The circle Gloria candle could be my favorite item in my whole home. I just love it!
I wanted something different for the star on the top of the tree and I thought what if it was just hanging above it. So I suspended it from the upstairs ledge and it is magical. The stars add such a fun element to the decor and I love that they can light up. These stars are from Royal Design and you can purchase them with the option to light them up or not.
I hope these ideas will help you out with your minimal Christmas decor, comment below if you’ve done any minimal Christmas decorating yourself. I would love to check it out.
Have a very Merry and Minimal Christmas.
