How To Make a Waffle Board

August 11, 2020

Weekend brunchin’ has become one of my favorite traditions I look forward to all week. There’s just something so marvelous about making a feast for my family to indulge.

This waffle board is not only pleasing to the eye but your taste buds will also squeal with delight. I love how you can make your own plate to tickle your fancy so this would be perfect for hosting Sunday brunch with friends.

I made this crispy buttermilk waffle board perfectly topped with thick cut bacon and berries! Some other options for the toppings could be sausages, smoked salmon or buttery eggs.

Prepare your board with additional yumminess of little pitchers of maple syrup, whip cream and Nutella. I love this recipe for buttermilk waffles. They turn out so crunchy on the outside and soft & moist on the inside.

Bon Appetite!

How To Make a Waffle Board

Crispy Buttermilk Waffle Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 egg room temperature and separated
  • 11/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla

Instructions

  1. Separate the egg and beat the egg white until stiff peaks form. About 5mins or so.
  2. In a large bowl add the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix it all well until its combined.
  3. Add the milk, butter, egg yolk, sugar and vanilla and just lightly mix it. Be sure to not overmix.
  4. Fold in the egg whites. Be gently with it so that the egg whites stay bubbly to give the waffles that light texture.
  5. Scoop about 3/4 cup- 1 cup of batter into your waffle. Be careful so it doesn’t overflow.
  6. Cook waffles according to the directions of your waffle iron.

Topping Options.

  • Thick cut bacon
  • Whip Cream
  • Nutella
  • Bananas
  • Blueberries, strawberries, blackberries and of your favs!
  • Maple Syrup
  • Sausages
  • Smoked Salmon
  • Eggs
  • Chocolate Chips
  • Peanut Butter

Formal living room update: it’s coming together Formal living room update: it’s coming together nicely. Just need to add in some curtains and some art.

I’m thinking maybe to do an ornate floor mirror instead of art. What do you guys think? A gold mirror or art for a French modern vibe? ✨formallivingroom #frenchmodern

We just had the final walk through at our new hous We just had the final walk through at our new house and now we’re 2 days away from closing escrow on our first home together. To say the least the journey to buying our home has been a rollercoaster of ups and downs since we started looking back in November. I am soooo happy it’s finally over. Ahhh! Need a vaycay after that.

I’ve always dreamt of ending up in San Diego ever since I moved to LA almost 7 years ago now, but something about Temecula spoke deeply to me. I thought it wasn’t for me but as soon as we got there, it was like there was something in the air. My heart opened and my body immediately began to relax. It felt like home.

Only 20 mins from San Diego so we can still do all the fun family activities I love there, but then we also get the beauty and serenity of living in Temecula wine country.

So beyond excited for this new chapter with my loves and to have a beautiful home to call our own.

Big THANK YOU to our agent @sandraluesse for getting it done for us!! It was a ride girl lol!! Love youuuu 💕❣️💕

Our favorite day of the year has come and gone. I Our favorite day of the year has come and gone. I miss it already.

Soleil was so excited for Christmas. I wasn’t sure if she’d get it or be into it but she totally did. She’s been asking to wear her Christmas pjs all week long and has been saying Santa on repeat.

It was just pure magic enjoying the day with her and making “eat” as she calls it in her new kitchen from Santa.
