I’ve been trying a new morning routine for a few weeks now. Before I used to wake up and the first thing I would do was go on Instagram as if it was the daily newspaper. Waking up and seeing what everyone is doing sure can be exciting and inspiring but something about it just isn’t vibing with me anymore. Waking up to a brand new day and opening my eyes the first thing I want to focus on is me. I think we need to be more selective of what we let in to our minds first thing in the morning. The first moments of a new day are so precious and can really set the momentum for whats to come.
I’ve now got into a routine of not checking my Instagram and emails well into the morning and instead I take the time to center myself and bring in whatever vibes I’d like for the day. As you open your eyes lay in bed for a minute and visualize and feel how you’d like your day to go. If you’d like to add more peace, joy or love to your day, focus on those words and feel the energy move thorough you. Really feel it for at least 68 seconds to get the energy moving in that direction.
I’ve been listening to Abraham Hicks videos all about living life with ease and joy. Ester Hicks says it takes about 17 seconds to change a feeling. Do that morning meditation first thing upon waking for 68 seconds and you can really shift your day to take off in a high direction.
I usually don’t have a big appetite upon waking up. Lately my body has been telling me it needs to cleanse first thing in the morning. I’ve been putting two squirts of chlorophyll in a glass of water sitting on the side of my bed and gulping that down before even stepping a foot out of bed. Mornings have now been quite blissful since I’ve been implementing these few changes. I’ll then sit for a meditation session or light read while enjoying a smoothie.
Having this green smoothie on an empty stomach, gives my body the nutrition it needs to absorb right away along with some beauty benefits. It’s packed with handful amounts of antioxidants from spinach and blueberries along with some collagen to get clean and clear from the inside out. This collagen from Vital Proteins comes with a blend of additional greens and it works nicely in this green smoothie. Packed with 5 raw greens like kale, spinach, barley, wheat grass and alfalfa leaf so this recipe is highly nutritious and collagen rich. The collagen is derived from snapper so it’s a marine collagen but don’t worry it’s completely tasteless so there’s no fishy taste at all.
